The City Government of Naga together with the Regional Office of the DENR- Environmental Management Bureau V, SM City Naga, Ako Para Sa Pilipino Movement, other Government Agencies and private entity/organizations joined this years’ Earth Hour Celebration last March 19 at SM City Naga grounds.
Highlights of this years’ event includes the Advocacy Walk and Zumba Night;


2nd Kantakalikasan: Battle of the Bands whereas five (5) bands competed by singing their original composition or rendition of songs.
Special guest Engr. Roberto D. Sheen, Regional Director of DENR-EMB V entertained the audience by singing his original compositions “Inang Kalikasan” and “Kaingin”.
Earth Hour Night Ride gathered different biking groups in the metro and run around the city led by Naga’s First Lady, Ms. Farah Bongat who is also the Chairman of this years’ Earth Hour event;
Advocacy Walk led by Ako Para Sa Pilipino Movement;
Ceremonial turning off of lights by officials, guests and host establishment;
And lighting of candles where the youth gathered at the grounds forming the symbol of Earth Hour.

To end the night, Chili Con of Calabanga bagged the first spot in this years’ 2nd Kantakalikasan.
Earth Hour may only be an annual one hour ritual but the impact of this advocacy will shine throughout the year. Let us all be stewards of this planet.
